[ENDED] The Ice Hockey World Championship Trophy

The Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum will open an ice hockey themed special exhibition on the 2nd of October, where the visitors can take a look at one of the most important trophy in ice hockey – the 2019 World Championships winners trophy.

Finland was far from being the favorite at the World Championships tournament, which took place only a few months ago in Slovakia. Still, the Finnish team managed to win the tournaments clear favorites in the three last games: Sweden in the quarterfinals, Russia in the semifinals and Canada in the finals. For Finland it was the third World Championships title and in the past they have become world champions in 1995 and 2011.

Seeing the Ice Hockey Championships trophy in Estonia is a special event as Estonians have always kept fingers crossed for Finland and have been delighted over their victories. The Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum is happy to bring the internationally important original trophy to Estonia for two weeks.

In addition to the Ice Hockey Championships trophy you can also see Finnish men’s national ice hockey team’s hockey equipment and historical jerseys.

The exhibition will be open in Tartu until 13th of October.
